Students in the Logic School (Grades 7–9) at Heritage Oak School enter a critical stage of their classical Christian education, where they are trained to become thoughtful, confident thinkers and attentive, discerning listeners.
As part of our private Christian middle school program in Tehachapi, California, these years focus on developing reasoning skills, intellectual maturity, and personal responsibility. Logic School Course of Study (Grades 7–9)
Building on the strong foundation established in Grammar School, the Logic School program at Heritage Oak School equips students to grow in responsibility, critical thinking, and academic discipline during these formative middle school years.
As part of our classical Christian middle school curriculum students are challenged to think deeply, read carefully, and engage ideas with clarity and purpose.
Our Logic School curriculum includes:
- Omnibus courses, integrating history, literature, and theology into a unified learning experience
- Formal Logic studies, developing structured thinking, reasoning, and argument analysis
- Emphasis on close reading, careful observation, and thoughtful discussion
- Training in study habits, time management, and academic responsibility
- Opportunities for leadership, service, and character development through our House system
Students are guided by experienced Christian educators and mentors who are committed to helping them grow academically and spiritually. As their understanding of the world expands, students deepen their faith, strengthen their character, and prepare for the next stage of their classical education journey. It is not possible to read all the wonderful books in a class during the course of the school year. Therefore we recommend students consider the following literature for reading outside of class.

Students are provided opportunities to participate in extra-curricular activities, including cross country, mountain biking, as well as our debate, rocket, and drama clubs.
