Our mission is focused to serve Christian families who proclaim Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior and are actively participating in a local church congregation. Because God has ordained the parents as the first and primary authority in the life of the child (Deut. 6), our role is to come alongside and support the parents (in loco parentis) as they seek to instruct their children spiritually and academically. Therefore we expect:

• both parents to profess saving faith in Jesus Christ alone;
• all members of the family regularly attend a Bible-based Christian church;
• both parents be in agreement with the Statement of Doctrine, mission, and purpose statement of the school.

Heritage Oak is committed to providing instruction in all classes from a Biblical worldview with faculty members that meet these same expectations.

Is your primary educational goal to cultivate a love of Christ within your child?

Parents are called to bring their children up “in the discipline (paideia) and instruction of the Lord” (Eph. 6:4). Our paideia shapes us, motivating our loves and affections, which in turn informs our decisions and actions. Individually, paideia is the whole training and education of the child; collectively, paideia forms a culture within a family, a church, and even a school.

All schools have a paideia, but if you are seeking one that will form your child toward becoming a passionate lover of Christ and develop within them a strong mind that knows Christ and is prepared to transform the culture around them, then Heritage Oak is here to come alongside your family in loco parentis. Are you looking for a school that emphasizes deep learning in the core subjects?

Heritage Oak is an accredited member of the Association of Classical Christian Schools (ACCS). As an ACCS accredited school, our curriculum aligns with the standard classical pedagogy set forth by the association including the teaching of all subjects through the lens of a biblical worldview (called Paideia), incorporating methods based on natural phases of child development, cultivating the seven Christian virtues, training students in reasoning through the Trivium (Grammar, Logic, and Rhetoric), and engaging children in “the great conversation” through the historical Great Books.

Are you seeking a like-minded community that will reinforce your own parenting values?

A like-minded community can only be formed when all parties subscribe to the same belief system. Our school is founded on our Statement of Faith, church attendance in a Protestant, bible believing church that upholds our same faith, and the basic principals of our biblical parenting class. We ask that parents are in agreement with our Portrait of a Parent (see below) and our teachers model our Portrait of a Teacher. Because parents, teachers, administration and board members all hold to these same tenants, we are able to come together in unity in order to provide a cohesive education in a unified environment for optimal student learning.

Do you desire your child to be formed and shaped by the cultivation of good habits and godly behavior toward others?

We aim to graduate students that exemplify the traits outlined in our Portrait of a Graduate (a.k.a.  KNIGHTS for Christ). As we look toward this goal, our school Paideia (culture) is designed to form and shape the child through the cultivation of good habits and self-governance (kindness, self-control, patience, etc.) in structured classrooms balanced with an age-appropriate curricula, hands on activities, and enthusiastic teachers that love working with children. Faculty are professionally trained to seek high student engagement in every lesson as they lead students to discover truths about God and His wonderful creation. PORTRAIT OF A PARENT

In the Christian school setting, the unity between home, church, and school are vitally important and requires a relationship built on like-minded values since the school supports the family in loco parentis, acting in place of the parent for the education of the child. The school asks that parents exemplify the Portrait of a Parent as indication that they are in agreement with the school.
